1. Stroll around the Harbour
Toulon is a Mediterranean port city and its harbour is an appealing setting for a stroll. Spotting the various yachts and fishing boats. Stopping at the harbour side eateries for a bite of local cuisine.

2. Plages du Mourillon
The Plages du Mourillon are four contiguous sandy beaches just east of the port, each with a Blue Flag. They’re all horseshoe shaped bays with long breakwaters that keep the seas shallow and smooth. There are a dozen bars and restaurants.

3. Mont Faron
Mont Faron was a perfect lookout post for monitoring sea traffic and spotting enemy ships because it blocked the northwesterly Mistral wind. You’ll be at the top in 6 min, where you can fall in love with the views.

4. Anse Mejean
A pair of small coves with a mix of sand and shingle can be found on the Sentier des Douaniers. The fishing cottages’ walls descend all the way to the beach and behind them are steep rocks covered in cypresses, palms and pine trees.

5. Ride the Tourist Train
Enjoy the center without walking by taking an exciting Train Ride. Explore the beaches and the Tour Royale tower! The tour lasts 45 minutes (commentary in French, English,German and every day.

6. Stade Mayol
Rugby is a popular team sport in France and it is almost regarded a religion in the South of France due to its cultural importance. Toulon’s club is one of the best in the world and its stadium is a must see for rugby fans.

7. National Marine Museum
A rich and visually appealing museum tracing Toulon’s Maritime History and the role of the navy throughout the centuries. The Museum has both permanent collections and seasonal exhibitions.

8. Art Museum
The Mediterranean Center of Art is housed in Toulon’s Hotel des Arts, which is open to the public for free exploration. It is a beautiful Toulon heritage building, light and peaceful even during the summer months.

9. Tour Royale
Toulon’s Tour Royale, accessible via a footbridge, is perched right on the Mediterranean in all its glory, while remaining partially built into the natural rock. It has been listed as a “historic monument” since 1947.

10. Cours Lafayette
The Cours Lafayette Market in Toulon is the largest outdoor market in the area, open from early morning until lunchtime most days of the week (except for Monday). Food in France is very seasonal, so pay attention to the offer.
